Unemployment claims increased today 17000 over last weeks numbers to reach 372000. How is your job? Do you have one? Have you been laid off? Do you fear being laid off? If you are self employed or own your own business, how are things? Are your margins smaller because of expenses and have you increased prices?

I have been working for the same mortgage company now for over 5 years. I can't tell you how grateful I am to have a job!
I don't fear losing my job, but I am worried that more and more lenders are removing programs and tightening guidelines. Appraisals are coming in low, and even A paper borrowers are having problems refinancing. Fewer loans closing means less money for me. I have probably turned down 10 loans since the beginning of the year because of low loan to value.
